I thought it might be an idea to repeat the recipe and multiple uses of soap nut liquid here:
In a saucepan, add 1 litre of water to 25 unused soap nuts (including seeds),bring it to a boil and then simmer for about 40 minutes. Leave overnight then strain and use as a hair and body shampoo or household cleanser. When I shower with it after swimming, it removes the chlorine smell that usually lingers with other cleansers. It cleans my glass hob beautifully getting rid of the grease and splash marks and is my cleanser of choice for stainless steel, granite and tiles. It is gentle, scratch-free and does not leave a residue.

SQUEEZE EVERY BIT OF DETERGENT OUT OF YOUR SOAP NUTS BEFORE THROWING THEM ON THE COMPOST HEAP. After making soap nut liquid, the fat smooth-skinned soap nuts left in the saucepan still have plenty of honey-coloured sticky liquid still in them. Use 5 of those used soap nuts in the washing machine and get two really clean washes out of them before they are spent.

Just wanted to share my holiday tip- I took some whole soap nuts in my suitcase and soaked 5 overnight in a tumbler of hot water. Next day, I emptied the liquid in the basin, added warm water and handwashed the family's undergarments. I kept topping it up with more water every day. One lot of 5 was enough for the 4 of us for a whole week! I was delighted as there was no messy detergent to pack carefully, just 5 nuts.
